World Cup Watch Party at the PVD FanZone

For all of you eagerly awaiting the Scotland vs. Morocco match in the FIFA World Cup, here’s you chance to watch it on the big screen!  The City of Providence and FIFA have created a FanZone – this outdoor venue is located at Station Park (between Providence Place Mall and the Train Station). 

The PVD FanZone is free to enter and will be buzzing with activity to watch the matches on the big screen, alongside live performances, interactive games, and a rotating lineup of local food trucks, beer, wine and spirits garden. 

Entry times have not been finalized yet, so stay tuned for more details!  If you are interested in meeting up, please register so we know who to expect.  Goal!

250th Anniversary Event Meet Up

In celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday, join us at Fort Adams in Newport RI!  A re-enactment battle as living history will take place where the RI 2nd Regiment (an active regiment in RI) will be camped along with troops from Massachusetts and Connecticut.  Indigenous dancers will also perform.
 
The location of the event is inside the Fort at 80 Fort Adams Drive, Newport, RI.  Parking is around the Fort and free.
 
Note:  If you plan on visiting Newport Friday evening, the ship Amistad will be in port.

Tartan Picnic

Our annual Tartan Picnic will be held at Goddard Park on August 23rd from 12 to 5 PM – 1095 Ives Road, E Greenwich RI, Site Shelter F.  The Special Events Committee has planned an afternoon of games, food and friendship.  This event is open to the public!
 
SASRI will provide hamburgers, hotdogs & soft drinks. So bring a lawn chair and your favorite dish to share and enjoy the day!  Look for the Saltire hanging from the rafters at Shelter F.

Tartan Bash

The Scottish-American Society  of RI’s Tartan Bash will be held October 17, 2026 at Chelos Banquet Room, 2225 Post Road, Warwick, RI.  Join us for a cocktail reception from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m., followed by a full buffet and dessert.  The night will include the traditional Address to a Haggis and plenty of Ceilidh Dancing,  Oh yes, and Haggis!

Wearing of the Tartan is encouraged!  If your wardrobe is lacking, please visit our shop where ties and sashes in the official Rhode Island Tartan are available for purchase at a reasonable price.

Christmas Ceilidh

The Christmas Cèilidh is a potluck event open to members and their guests, and will be held at the Lafayette Lodge, 680 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland, RI.  The evening will include dancing, musical performances by members of the Society, and raffle baskets supporting our Scottish Dancing Club.  

Each guest brings a dish to share; this is a BYOB event if you desire.  The event is FREE FOR MEMBERS; non-members pay a nominal entrance fee of $5 per person to be collected at the door. 

Please bring a homemade or store prepared dish – No Pizza or fast food please!
Attendees are kindly asked to bring a non-perishable offering for a local food bank.
